Travel Planner
Debunked: Common Travel Planner Myths

When I first told my friends and family that I was going to become a travel planner, they had so many questions! A lot of which, I realized, were huge myths that needed to be debunked. So in the spirit of the new blog, let me start with common myths about using a travel planner.
- MYTH: My vacation will cost more if I don't book it myself.
- Actually your vacation will cost the same or less than if you booked it yourself. Travel planners have access to exclusive offers not available to the general public. Will I have access to it for every trip? No, but I do have access to discounts, sales, and offers you may not be able to get yourself.
- MYTH: I have to pay to use a travel planner.
- Most travel planners, like myself, are free for you to use (there are some out there that charge a fee, but I do not). You may ask yourself how do I get paid. Well I get a commission straight from the suppliers upon the completion of your vacation!
- MYTH: I already booked my vacation so I can't use a travel planner.
- That is 100% not true. With a simple transfer form, a planner can manage your trip without any additional cost to you. We may even be able to find you exclusive deals and lower your current trip cost.
- MYTH: Travel planners are no different than search engines
- I take pride in the personal touches I add to someone's travel plans. I make sure to take in preferences, restrictions, things they'd love to do and see and make suggestions and recommendations based on that. I cater to each individual budget as best I can so you can get the most out of your vacation.
- MYTH: Travel planners only book hotels and flights.
- This is a big one. I can book hotels and flights, but I can also book cars, experiences, dining (in some cases), theme park reservations, etc. I can be as involved as you wish me to be, whether that is just there for the possible discounts and booking or to handle it all with your input. You tell me how you wish for me to help you!
I could go on-and-on about travel planner myths, but I will leave your with the most common ones for today.
